image

How to Read Poetry Today

Tom McGhe

I was also poet in my pimple age. I used to see poems in every moment, may be in river may be in jungle.

I think, this age is most memorable for everybody. So, everybody wants to back this age again and again. And, everybody wish to back which is never possible.

Why people wish what never can get? I don't know.

Yes, I'm telling something pimple age and my poetry.

Anna Hazare calls off fast

"Why Nepali media do not cover the news of Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement?"
Perhaps, seeing the face of Nepali news paper, Sudeep (Shrestha) dai, research fellow of Jawarlal Neharu University, New Delhi, asked this question on Friday, on the face book chat.
The Hazare's news was covered not only in India, also World wide.
"If, you were here, you could clicked so many photos of Anna at the Jantar Mantar, New Delhi," he told me, may be, by seeing my attachment to the photography.
I asked him, "who is Anna?" And, then, he gave me his detail. And, questioned me again, "Why Nepali media did not cover?"
"I don't know dai." I replied.

Connecting with the world

Sometime, I'm hurt by tiny things. They may be fiction or non-fiction. They may be known or unknown. They may be far or very close.
I use to weep when I read book or watch film. And, as well news or event, too.
I entered Soma Basu's this story in the Hindu. It hurt me. I don't know why? I saw so many Pandiammal and Maheshwarans in my villages who are facing problems. And, they never get such chance what Pandiammal couple got. Just for them who are facing heavy problem due to poverty which given as prize by the bad governance but they are ruling saying 'God'.

A mother’s search in post-tsunami Japan

Why? I don't know.
I fell in love with writing in my pimple age. Those days were very interesting. I want to revive them. But how? It is impossible.
We (Kamal Pun, who killed in Nepal Ganj by former Royal Nepal Army in the People's War period) used search songs, poem and short stories also on the leaves of the trees in the Dang. We never missed to watch movies, they may be love stories or horror or Hawa film, in the Ganesh, Rapti and Nima Film Hall. And, we used to wiped when hero and heroin got pain, tragedy… And, we used to say that how best film, I did not stop my tear. Tear was the measurement of the quality of film.
Yes, we had come from Rolpa, the base area of Maoist, origin place of People's War, with the war psychology where we had faced the terror of the police. We had seen our naked eye how they captured and looted happiness, dreams and family members of the common people without any mistake. Even, Maoist also did. But they persuaded them by class, by coaching and they involved knowingly and unknowingly in the People's War. But, Police? Never. Common people killed and they gave name Maoist terrorist.
Perhaps, the war psychology shifted me to read the conflict and tear.
Again, I read this story in the Pakistani newspaper Dawan, story of Tsunami in the Japan. I don’t know why I'm curtsying these stories in hataru. Plz, forgive me.

Why people like to read tragedy? I don't know. U know? There are so many books who became most popular, they are almost tragedy.
I don't why I chose this story? But it touched my heart. And, I curtsy from The Independent, just for you.
