कुनै दलमा आबद्ध नभएका गयाले युद्धकालमा माओवादीकै नाउँमा थला पर्नेगरी यातना भोग्नुपर्‍यो। माओवादीको सशस्त्र युद्ध सकिएपछि सुप्रिमो प्रचण्ड र अर्का नेता बाबुराम भट्टराई मुलुकको प्रधानमन्त्रीसमेत भए। तर, उनको दुःख ठाउँको ठाउँ रह्यो।

Will Biplab deliver?

Netra Bikram Chanda alias Comrade Biplab is mostly busy outside the capital. Purpose? Not long after splitting from Mohan Baidya-led CPN-M, his party CPN M is engaged in Maoist insurgency-era type 'dream cultivation' among the rural folks afar from the capital. Arguing that the UCPN (Maoist) as well as the CPN-M no longer stand for the revolutionary cause, Biplab is presenting his party as one that will complete the 'revolution', which he says was left half way by Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Baburam Bhattarai.

Is Prachanda's revival possible?

UCPN (Maoist) supremo Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' recently went on a nationwide campaign, which he said was a part of his broader objective of lifting his party to the top of country's politics within two years.

Will Prachanda succeed in fulfilling this commitment which he publicly made during the party's recently held central committee meeting? Is UCPN (M)'s revival possible when its well-known ideologues Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Baidya have abandoned it? Or is Prachanda planning a merger with the CPN (UML)? Or will the party also face the fate akin to CPN-ML led by CP Mainali?

वीपि कोइराला स्वास्थ्य विज्ञान प्रतिष्ठानको आकस्मिक कक्षमा उपचाररत अशोकका बाबुले चिन्ता व्यक्त गर्दै सञ्चारकर्मीलाई उल्टै सोधे, ‘मेरो एकमात्र छोरो बाँच्छ कि बाँच्दैन ? त्यो भारतीय एसएसबीको हामीले के बिगारिदिएका थियौं ? व्यर्थमा गोली नै हाने ।’ उनले नेपाल भित्र प्रवेश गरेर अनाधिकृतरुपमा जथाभावी गोली चलाउनु एसएसबीको चरम ज्यादती भएको गुनासो गरे ।

Bhattarai on a lone journey?

Former PM and former senior Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai is all set to form a new political force if one is to go by his recent defection from the UCPN (Maoist) and subsequent visits to districts to interact with people from different sectors and professional background to garner support to launch the new force.

But whether the new force that Bhattarai has been campaigning for since the past few years will come to fruition or merely confine as his much-cherished wish is a question that Nepali pundits have begun probing.
