KATHMANDU, April 22: It was a rare sight for the crowd gathered inside the Rastriya Sabha Griha at Exhibition Road on Monday as two noted communist leaders not only criticized other parties for their weaknesses but also criticized their own parties with a number of anecdotes and evidence.

UCPN (Maoist)´s chief of the international bureau Ram Karki and CPN-UML Central Committee member Ghanashyam Bhusal while addressing the gathering organized on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of establishment of communist party in Nepal, dissected several aspects on why communist parties mushroomed in the country but failed to make sustained efforts in uplifting the people from the real downtrodden communities.

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Thursday. Dahal had been invited for a week-long visit to China by the Chinese Communist Party. Purna Basnet of Republica had an exclusive talk with Dahal shortly after the meeting with President Xi. KATHMANDU, April 19: CPN-Maoist cadres have expressed serious objection to names proposed by the party leaders as central committee members even before the names were made public.
Stating that the proposal is against the mandate of the generation convention, dissident party members said the party leaders have utterly failed to correct themselves even after the split from the UCPN (Maoist).
