KATHMANDU, October 2: The agitating CPN-Maoist has decided to obstruct candidates in the CA poll scheduled for November 19 from entering the villages to canvass for votes.
At a meeting of the party politburo held at the party´s head office at Buddhanagar on Wednesday, the Maoists appealed to people to boycott the poll actively and effectively, arguing that the talks option was now over.

Leaders' kin get priority in candidacy list

KATHMADU, October 1: A lot of influential leaders of the UCPN (Maoist) as well as their kin are going to contest the Constituent Assembly election slated for November 19.
According to the list of 79 candidates under the first-past-the-post electoral system jointly finalized by the party´s candidate selection committee and high command so far, most of the top ranking leaders and their relatives are on the fray.

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Alleging that foreign hands were behind a decision of the government and the major parties to forward the poll related ordinances without bringing dissenting parties on board the election process, the agitating alliance of 33-poliitcal parties led by the CPN-Maoist on Tuesday asked the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) to reconsider their demands in the broader interest of Nepal.

आगामी संविधानसभा निर्वाचनमा प्रमुख तीन दलका सात शीर्ष नेता प्रत्यक्षतर्फ दुई ठाउँबाट चुनाव लड्दै छन् । दुई ठाउँमा उठेका एकीकृत माओवादी अध्यक्ष पुष्पकमल दाहाल प्रचण्ड, कांग्रेस सभापति सुशील कोइराला र एमाले अध्यक्ष झलनाथ खनालको एउटा क्षेत्र नयाँ छ । अन्य केही नेताहरू पनि नयाँ क्षेत्रमा चुनाव लड्दै छन् । उनीहरूका प्रतिस्पर्धा तीन ठूला दलका उम्मेदवारबीच नै हुने भएको छ ।
